Welcome to our restaurant! After learning to talk about likes and dislikes regarding food, we started to work on a restaurant roleplay. Roleplays allow students to develop their conservational skills, and use the language creatively and in real-life situations, plus build confidence and fluency. Essentially, it puts learning into action.
The first step was to divide the class into two groups. Working in groups creates more opportunities for critical thinking and can promote student learning and achievement.
Each group had to pick their characters and organize their lines. After rehearsing, it was time to do the roleplay! Collectively, we enjoyed this activity and understood the importance of roleplays and the advantages of group work.
